How did you hear about us?: Well. That's a long story. Mara sent me and I joined with Landon and then I had crazy RL stuff happen and now...now I'm trying to kick Landon back to life with Karl.

Race: Werewolf. Telepathic Werewolf.
Personality: Karl is really, really, really old-fashioned (after all, he's older than the city of Chicago). He has changed some over the course of the years, but for the most part, he's traditional. He has a lot of duality in his personality, caused by his bond to Landon Cabrera. He maintains his own personality, but it's often influenced by Cabrera's perceptions and ideologies.
History:
Birth & Childhood
Karlton Wyatt O'Connor was born to a wealthy banker in New York City in September, 1791. His father, Bran O'Connor, was a werewolf, and his mother, Colleen, was a telepath. it's from her that he picked up his telepathy. The first fifteen years of his life went by as normally as any of his friends, but when he hit sixteen, his first Change occurred. He was terrified and didn't know what to do, but his father tracked him down and managed to help him calm down enough to help him change back.

Being a Werewolf & Moving Around
He began to train his body, and his stomach. He travelled more, moving around frequently, and sticking mainly to the East Coast. His favorite place to visit was the South, where he eventually settled for a while. He dropped his Irish accent and picked up a Southern one (as he got older, the two would mix together). Continuing to move around every few years to hide the fact that he didn't age, he found a particular niche in the middle of nowhere. Or at least, to most travellers, it was the middle of nowhere. He actually owned a plantation house in a secluded area of Southern Georgia.

Civil War
When the Civil War broke out, Karl was torn. He was loyal to his father in the North (by now in the young city of Chicago), but at the same time, his heart was in the South. He ended up fighting part of the war for the South before receiving a wound that, were he human, would have killed him. He returned to his home in Southern Georgia, adopted a deep drawl, and began to limp around on the off chance that he got Union or Confederate soldiers as visitors.

WWI & WWII
When peace came after the war, Karl began to write letters to his father. In 1914, Karl's father died. Devastated, Karl moved to Chicago (keeping the house in Georgia, however) and avoided WWI. When WWII rounded the corner, he jumped to participate. He fought both as human and wolf, gained intelligence with his telepathy, and in general aided the Allied Powers. As the war wound to an end, Karl met a weretiger named Landon, who had been working as a mechanic for the Allied Powers.

Becoming Bonded
They spent the night drinking together, each aware that the other was more than he seemed, but when they woke up the next morning, one was a tiger and one a wolf. Growing territorial, Landon swiped at Karl with his paw, only to receive the same blow he attempted to give to Karl. They both changed back, and Karl realized that they had been bonded. This meant they were linked through Karl's telepathy, and they would each feel what the other did. There was very little privacy between them.

End of the War & Returning Home
With WWII over, the two bonded werecreatures were able to return home. Since Landon had a sister to attend to, Karl offered the use of his Georgia home to Landon and Logan. Landon, however, refused, and just returned to his sister. After a while, the two drifted back together again. They couldn't stay apart for too long, because it wore down on the bond.

Marianne & Alliaster
Roughly five years ago, Karl met a werewolf named Marianne in a bar. He'd been singing that night, and she was visiting. When he stopped to talk to her, she ran off after realizing that the "voice" in her head was his. Later that night, he tracked her down, but didn't make any move against her. He waited about a week, following her the whole time. When he finally caught up with her, the two mated and spent a year together, during which time they conceived a child, whom Mari named Allaister. Shortly after Allaister's birth, Mari ran off.

Tracking Mari Down & Mayham
After Mari left, Karl spent the next four years moving his son around in an attempt to find his mate. He ran in with his bond-mate Landon, and the two had a mini-reunion. Karl, however, continued the search for Mari. When Landon settled in Mayham and ran into her, he didn't say anything about knowing who she was to her, but he let Karl know. Karl moved down to Mayham, dragging Allaister along, and leaving him with Landon while he went to track Mari down in the city.
Notes on Powers:
Werewolf
As a werewolf, Karl is normal. He has the same approximate change time as other werewolves, his changes can be emotion based (but he still has to change once a week), and he doesn't age. He has accelerated healing and protection against illness.

Telepath
Karl, as a telepath, can read most people's thoughts (with the exception of those with telepathic immunity or certain abilities). As soon as you think it, he can know it. For the most part, he can pick up on as many as five different people's thoughts, but they often get muddled and mixed up when he does this. He usually only reads one or two thought trains at a time.

Telepath-Bonding
For whatever reason, Karl has the ability to bond to someone. He doesn't know why, and he doesn't know the cause, full effect, or how to break it once he's done it. He can only be bonded to one person at a time. Currently, he's bonded to Landon Cabrera. The two refer to themselves as "bond-mates," because it's just that much simpler than saying, "that one guy I am apparently irrevocably bonded to." This bonding causes full and complete awareness of the other person at all times, though they've recently begun to shield each other from the bond. They each feel what the other is feeling (so if, say, Landon gets hit in the gut, Karl feels it too). As far as they are aware, this bond is completely and totally irrevocable, and for the most part, benign, although they can't wander too far from each other for too long, or it will adversely affect them both.
